Day 51: A Great Find!

Last Monday, I was doing Snorkel Club with the kids and Hannah down at Crook's Castle (the place where you can find blue beads). I went into shore with one of the kids and decided to stay right on the shore and snorkel a bit more. I was sifting through the sand and the pebbles when I came upon an old piece of glass.

I had no clue what it was and I thought it was some sort of bead. I looked it up online the next day but I found nothing about it. I went to visit a lovely woman named Gay, who lives on the island. She told me exactly what I needed to know. She said that it is the same age as the blue beads but that it was used as a pour spout for either an essential oil bottle or a vinegar bottle. She also said it is much more rare than the blue beads and it is even more rare to find one with all five holes in tact.

It was a great find and I'm really excited about it! :]
