It has been a great weekend on Statia!
On Friday, we hung out at the beach and then got some pizza. We danced the night away at Smoke Alley. Then we had a flat tire on the way home and Kyle had to come from the garden in the other truck and rescue us at 3:00 in the morning. Also, when we were coming home from work, there was a dead pig on the road that had been hit by a car. It was right in the middle and I didn't want to drive over it so I decided I should pick it up and move it. I got two black, plastic bags and after much shrieking and hopping around, I picked it up and flung it into the bush. It shouldn't have been funny, but it was.
We did a whole lot of nothing on Saturday, which was nice. I am reading "The Poisonwood Bible" by Barbara Kingsolver so I read that and then took a long nap. Saturday evening, we had a bonfire and roasted marshmallows on the fire.
Sunday, I went for two dives. I did one at Aquarium and the other at Blue Bead Hole. At Aquarium I saw a hawksbill turtle eating coral, I swam into a school of southern sennets and got circled by them, I also saw some lobster and a barracuda. Blue Bead Hole is a big, sandy area with lots of small little fish living there. It's really neat to lay on the bottom near a group of small rocks and watch what kind of sea life come out to see what you're doing there. It was also a really good dive because I found a blue bead! Finally! After dreaming about it and searching, I dive B.B. Hole, not expecting to find anything but just enjoying all the little creatures, and sitting on top of the sand was a brilliant, dark blue, bead! I smiled so much that I flooded my mask three times and had to clear it three times. Now, I've got it on a necklace and it looks lovely.
